Send Me

When I came home last night, the story of Isaiah 6:1-8 came to mind. This man finally saw God, and when he saw God he was undone. Just imagine the scene. You are in the presence of GOD -- the creator of every single human being on the planet earth, the creator of the entire universe, and the creator of the sun. God is more magnificent than the sun, and imagine how bright and hot it can get on the hottest of summer days. God can handle the heat. It's nothing to Him! So, one of God's angels brings a coal to Isaiah, places it on his mouth, and declares his sin is no more. That he is guilt-free! How awesome is that! God had to deal with the sin in Isaiah -- unclean lips -- words which bring death and not life. Once his sin was pardoned, Isaiah was finally ready to go, to answer that call.

I wonder how many of us are ready when God asks us, "Who can I send?" For many years, I've heard God's call on my life, but I always procrastinated because I didn't want to deal with the sins -- the sin of doubt, the sin of fear, the sin of unclean lips, etc. I had to come to a point where I realized that I was in need of cleansing and purifying of my mind and mouth. (I truly believe there's power in the tongue. You can speak life, or you can speak death. But, I choose to speak life.) I still struggle with fear and doubt, but I do not let them control my actions any more. For instance, CSJ Media Publishing would have never been created if I had not overcome "the sin of fear." I truly believe countless of people are not being all they can be because of fear! Please don't let fear prevent you from being all that God created you to be and having the courage to say, "Here am I. Send me."

Here am I. Send me, Lord Jesus.
